Tanzania – End of an era

Jemimah Gilpin

This photo was taken in July 2014, just outside the Iringa region in Eastern Tanzania. It was a large expanse of land that had once been a ravine with a powerful waterfall. Before I left for the trip, I came to the end of a long relationship, and wasn’t sure where to turn to next. But there was something reassuring in how even though the valley was not what it used to be, it had a new purpose. Plants were growing everywhere, and people were walking in and out the structure exploring. It was a reminder that with the end of one season, another one begins.
